Sorting, reuse and recovery

Not everything has to end up in a skip. Separating streams during the job rather than afterwards means each material goes to the right channel — and it often reduces the final cost of the work.

A mixed load costs more to process than a sorted one, because the sorting gets paid for either way: on site, or downstream. We would rather do it while the property is being emptied, when items are still identifiable and separating them takes one extra movement. It is a matter of method, not a sales argument.

What the service covers

  • Streams separated during the clearance rather than afterwards
  • Reusable items and furniture set aside
  • Metals, timber, cardboard and plaster separated
  • WEEE directed to its dedicated channel
  • Regulated waste handled separately
  • Local outlets sought where it makes sense

Frequently asked questions

Does sorting reduce the price?

Often, yes: a sorted load costs less to process than a mixed one, and reusable items do not count towards the tonnage removed. The difference depends on what the property actually contains.

What happens to reusable items?

Depending on condition and the outlets available at the time: donation, reuse or resale. We tell you what has been set aside and the decision stays yours.

Do you take hazardous waste?

Paints, solvents, batteries, fluorescent tubes and similar products fall under regulated channels. They are identified, separated and taken to the appropriate collection points, never mixed with the rest.

Can you provide proof of disposal?

Mention it when requesting the quotation: the documentation available depends on the channels used for your particular job.
