Estate and probate property clearance

Clearing a relative's home calls for more than carrying: time given to the family, a sorting method that makes nothing disappear by mistake, and a schedule that fits the notaire's and the agent's own deadlines.

In an estate clearance the risk is not throwing away too little, it is throwing away the one thing that mattered: a bank book slipped into a drawer, a photograph at the bottom of a box, a title deed. So we work in two stages — identify and set aside first, empty afterwards — and never the other way round.

What the service covers

  • Identifying and setting aside papers, deeds, bank correspondence and identity documents
  • Separating photographs, letters and family keepsakes
  • Handing retained items to the person you nominate
  • Full clearance of the property, outbuildings included
  • Sorting of items and furniture that can be donated or reused
  • Property handed back clean and ready for viewings or key handover

Frequently asked questions

How long should I allow?

An apartment is usually cleared in one or two days; a house with outbuildings often takes longer. The schedule is set in the quotation, around your own deadlines.

What do you do with papers you find?

They are gathered together, never thrown out in bulk, and handed to the person you nominate — heir, notaire or appointed representative.

Can this be arranged remotely?

Yes. It is common when the heirs live elsewhere. The visit, the approval of the quotation and the key handover can all be coordinated with someone on site.

Do you buy the furniture?

We are neither antique dealers nor auctioneers. Where items appear to have value we tell you, so that you can have them valued before the property is emptied.
